JAMB CAPS Admission Status Messages
JAMB CAPS may display one of several responses during admission processing.
Admission Offered
Admission Offered means JAMB has approved the admission.
The candidate can proceed to accept or reject the offer through the approved JAMB methods.
Admission in Progress
Admission in Progress (AIP) means the school has reviewed the application and recommended the candidate for admission.
The recommendation is still awaiting approval from the Head of Institution before JAMB completes its final review.
Recommended
Recommended means the school has considered the candidate, while JAMB is still checking whether the application meets the required criteria.
The candidate should continue checking CAPS for the final decision.
Not Admitted
Not Admitted means the candidate has not yet been selected for admission.
The supplied information states that this may be because the school has not released its full list or the application is still awaiting review.
Pending
Pending means the application is still under review and a final decision has not yet been made.
How to Accept or Reject KSUK Admission
Candidates whose CAPS status shows Admission Offered are expected to accept or reject the admission.
The stated methods are:
- Use biometrics at an approved JAMB CBT centre.
- Send ACCEPT or REJECT to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number registered with JAMB.
Candidates using the SMS option should have up to ₦50 on the main airtime balance because the JAMB service does not deduct the charge from borrowed airtime or Xtra Credit.
Print the JAMB Admission Letter
After accepting the admission, the candidate should print the official JAMB Admission Letter.
The JAMB Admission Letter guide provides the stated route for obtaining the document.
The printed letter will serve as the candidate’s JAMB admission record.
JAMB CAPS on a Mobile Phone
Some phone users may see only the JAMB CAPS welcome message and may not see the option for checking admission status.
Candidates using a phone can switch the browser to desktop mode so that the complete CAPS page is displayed.
Chrome is the recommended browser in the supplied instructions. The candidate can open the Chrome menu and select Request desktop site, then return to CAPS and check the available options.
