The Air Force Institute of Technology has opened applications for its remedial programme for the 2026/2027 academic session. The programme is for science and non-science applicants who require an academic route that may support later consideration for admission into a degree programme.

What Is the AFIT Remedial Programme?
The AStudents will attend lectures, take tests and sit for examinations during the academic session, while the subjects covered will prepare them for the conditions connected with their proposed degree courses.
Completion of the remedial programme does not guarantee degree admission. Each candidate will still need the required remedial examination result, the applicable UTME cut-off mark and an available place within the chosen degree programme.
Who Can Apply for the AFIT Remedial Programme?
Applications are open to science and non-science candidates who meet the stated O’Level entry requirement.
The programme is also open to candidates who had earlier selected AFIT or another school during the admission process. Candidates who did not meet the required JAMB cut-off mark may apply, provided they satisfy the remedial admission requirements.

What Are the AFIT Remedial Admission Requirements?
Each applicant must possess at least three credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, in subjects relevant to the proposed course of study.
The results must be from SSSCE or GCE examinations conducted by WAEC, NECO or NABTEB. Candidates may combine results from no more than two sittings.
An eligible applicant must have:
- At least three relevant O’Level credit passes
- A credit pass in English Language
- A credit pass in Mathematics
- WAEC, NECO or NABTEB results
- Results from no more than two sittings
The stated minimum entry requirement includes both English Language and Mathematics. Applicants should use this requirement when checking their eligibility before paying the application fee.
Can a Candidate Apply With a Missing O’Level Subject?
Any O’Level subject required for the intended degree course must be cleared before the candidate can proceed fully into that degree programme.
The minimum requirement for remedial admission already includes credit passes in English Language and Mathematics. Candidates whose results do not contain these two credits do not meet the stated minimum entry condition.
For example, a candidate with credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and another subject relevant to the proposed course has met the minimum credit count. The candidate may still need to clear any other O’Level subject required for admission into the intended degree programme.
How Long Will the AFIT Remedial Programme Run?
The programme will run for one full academic year.
Two semesters will make up the session and students will take part in lectures, tests and examinations during that period.
What Happens After the AFIT Remedial Programme?
Candidates who pass the remedial examinations, meet the required UTME cut-off mark and perform well may be considered for admission into AFIT degree programmes.
Degree admission will also depend on the number of available places within the chosen course. Meeting the remedial and UTME conditions provides a route for admission consideration; it does not create an automatic offer.

How Much Is the AFIT Remedial Form?
The AFIT remedial application fee is ₦10,000.
Applicants will make payment online with an Interswitch-enabled ATM card during the application process. All payments should follow the procedure displayed on the official application portal.
AFIT does not request payment outside the stated application process.
How Can Applicants Complete the AFIT Remedial Application?
Applicants will submit their forms through the AFIT remedial application portal.
The application process is as follows:
- The applicant should open the AFIT remedial application portal.
- The online form should be completed with accurate personal and academic details.
- The ₦10,000 application fee should be paid with an Interswitch-enabled ATM card.
- The completed application should be submitted online.
- The applicant should print the completed form after submission.
- The printed form and O’Level result slip should be kept for registration day.
Names, examination details and contact information should be checked before the form is submitted. The printed application form will be presented with the O’Level result slip during registration.
When Is the AFIT Remedial Application Deadline?
The AFIT remedial admission application will close on Monday, 14 September 2026.
Candidates who intend to apply should complete the online process before the deadline. Waiting until the closing date may expose an applicant to payment delays, slow portal response or an incomplete submission.

Each applicant should keep the printed completed application form and the O’Level result slip.
Both documents will be required on registration day, as stated in the admission notice.

AFIT has not authorised backdoor admission, special favours or payment outside the listed portal procedure. Any request for an extra payment outside the official process is likely to be fraudulent.

Is Degree Admission Guaranteed After the Remedial Programme?
Degree admission is not automatic.
A candidate will need to pass the remedial examinations, meet the applicable UTME cut-off mark and perform well. Admission consideration will also depend on available space within the selected degree programme.
Can Candidates Who Chose Another School Apply?
Yes. The programme is open to applicants who had earlier selected AFIT or another school, provided they meet the stated remedial entry requirements.
Their previous choice of school does not prevent them from submitting an AFIT remedial application.
