The University of Nigeria, Nsukka has invited eligible candidates to register for its 2026/2027 Post UTME and Direct Entry screening exercise.
UTME candidates must have selected UNN as their first-choice university and scored 160 or above. Direct Entry candidates who selected UNN as their first choice must also complete the screening registration.
Online registration will begin on Wednesday, 15 July 2026 and close at midnight on Wednesday, 5 August 2026.
Who is eligible for the UNN Post UTME screening?
A candidate will be eligible to register for the UNN Post UTME screening where the following conditions have been met:
- UNN was selected as the first-choice university during the 2026 UTME.
- The candidate scored at least 160 in the 2026 UTME.
- The candidate will be 16 years old by 30 September 2026.
- The names on the candidate’s WAEC or NECO result are the same as the names used for JAMB registration.
- The required O’level result will be uploaded to JAMB CAPS and the UNN portal by 5 August 2026.
Candidates who do not meet these conditions should not submit the screening application.
What is the UNN cut-off mark for the 2026/2027 screening?
The minimum UTME score for the UNN admission screening is 160.
A candidate who scored 160 or above and selected UNN as the first choice may register, provided the other eligibility conditions have also been met.
A score of 160 allows a candidate to take part in the screening process. The notice does not state that the score guarantees admission.
Can a candidate who did not select UNN as the first choice apply?
Only candidates who made the University of Nigeria, Nsukka their first-choice university have been invited to register.
The first-choice condition applies to UTME and Direct Entry applicants.
What is the age requirement for UNN admission?

Must the names on JAMB and O’level results match?
The names on a candidate’s WAEC or NECO result must be consistent with the names used for JAMB registration.
Candidates should compare the order and spelling of their names before completing the form. A difference between the records may affect the screening application.
UNN has not provided a name-correction procedure within the notice.
When will UNN Post UTME registration begin?

Step 8: Complete the personal details
The candidate should enter the correct date of birth and complete every blank field.
The date of birth requires close attention because no change will be allowed after submission.
Step 9: Enter the O’level subjects and grades
The candidate should provide the verified O’level subjects and grades.
The examination centre and examination number must also be entered. Candidates awaiting results should list their SSCE subjects.
Each subject and grade should match the information on the candidate’s result.
Step 10: Check the grades
All entered grades should be checked again before the candidate moves to the upload section.
Incorrect grades may affect the accuracy of the screening record.
Step 11: Upload the required documents
The required certificates and supporting documents should be uploaded through the portal.
Each uploaded file must not be larger than 100KB.
Step 12: Review the summary page
After completing the form, the candidate should click the “NEXT” button.
The summary page will show the information entered during registration. Names, date of birth, examination details, subjects and grades should be checked against the original documents.
Step 13: Confirm and submit the application
The candidate should tick the confirmation box after checking the summary page.
The application may then be submitted.
Step 14: Print the acknowledgement slip
The acknowledgement slip should be printed after successful submission.
The slip will serve as evidence that the candidate completed the online screening registration.
Which documents will be uploaded?
Candidates will be required to upload the documents listed below:
- Birth certificate
- Local government identification
- Testimonial
- First School Leaving Certificate
- JAMB result slip
- O’level result for the first sitting
- O’level result for the second sitting, where applicable
Candidates using two O’level sittings should upload both results in the spaces marked “O’Level 1” and “O’Level 2”.
Each file must be 100KB or less.
Why must the birth certificate be checked before submission?
The date on the birth certificate should match the date of birth entered on the screening form.

Who must register as a Direct Entry candidate?
Direct Entry candidates who selected the University of Nigeria, Nsukka as their first-choice university must register for the 2026/2027 screening exercise.
