The management of the Nigeria Maritime University (NMU), Okerenkoko, has officially announced the commencement of admissions into its Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), Masters, and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.

​Admission Requirements

​Applicants seeking admission into the postgraduate programmes must meet the following criteria:

​Degree Qualification: Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree, Higher National Diploma (HND), or its equivalent from Nigeria Maritime University or any other recognized and accredited institution.

​O’Level Requirements: A minimum of five (5) O’Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two (2) sittings.

NYSC: Must present an NYSC Discharge, Exemption, or Exclusion Certificate.

​Referees: Referee reports must be submitted directly to the Postgraduate School.

​Method of Application & Required Documents

​• Visit the official university application portal at https://eportal.nmu.edu.ng.

​Purchase the application form online for a fee of Forty Thousand Naira (₦40,000) only.

• Complete the online application form after carefully reading the portal instructions.

• Upload scanned copies of the following documents in PDF format:

• Degree Certificate(s)

​• O’Level Certificate (WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB)

​• NYSC Certificate, Exemption, or Exclusion Letter

​• Research Proposal of 3–5 pages (for Ph.D. applicants only)

​Important Notices for Applicants

​Academic Transcripts: Candidates must ensure their official academic transcripts are forwarded directly from their previous institutions to the Postgraduate School under confidential cover.

​Screening & Selection: Names of successful candidates will be published on the university website, after which screening and fee payments will commence.
