UBTH Post Basic Nursing New Admission Form & Past Questions 2026/2027: Requirements| Fee and Deadline Date

The University of Benin Teaching Hospital, College of Nursing Sciences, has announced admission into its one-year Post Basic Nursing Certificate programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The programmes will be offered by the Department of Post Basic Nursing Studies at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Benin City. Successful candidates will receive a Registered Post Basic Nurse Certificate after completing the training programme.

Applications are open to registered nurses who meet the stated age, academic qualification, professional registration and work experience requirements.

Which UBTH Post Basic Nursing Programmes Are Available?

Admission is available for six specialised nursing programmes:

• Critical Care Nursing
• Gerontology Nursing
• Ophthalmic Nursing
• Perioperative Nursing
• Paediatric Nursing
• Accident and Emergency Nursing

Each programme will run for one year and will lead to the award of a Registered Post Basic Nurse Certificate.

Who Can Apply for UBTH Post Basic Nursing Admission?

An applicant must be at least 18 years old and must hold a Registered Nurse certificate.

The candidate must also have at least one year of relevant work experience after registration. All other academic and professional requirements must be met before the application will be considered.

What Are the Academic Entry Requirements?

Each candidate must possess five credit passes in the following subjects:

• English Language
• Mathematics
• Biology
• Physics
• Chemistry

The required credits must be obtained through WASCE, GCE or NECO in no more than two sittings.

An original scanned copy of the result must be uploaded during the application process.

The application form costs ₦20,000.

This fee is non-refundable and will be paid into the University of Benin Teaching Hospital Treasury Single Account through the REMITA platform.
