NECO Timetable 2026 for School Candidates

This is a comprehensive timetable for the 2026 internal NECO Examinations. All candidates must ensure that they take note of the dates for their subjects and report for the examination promptly. The NECO examination commences on Wednesday 19th June to Friday 21st June 2026.

Tips For Success in the NECO Timetable 2026 SSCE Internal Examination

  • Start your exam preparation early. Don’t wait until the last minute; begin studying and practicing several months before the exam date.
  • Make sure you have the right study materials. Access appropriate textbooks, past exam questions, and other resources to understand the exam format and what to expect.
  • Create a study plan. A well-structured plan helps you prepare efficiently. Organize your study time to cover all subjects, giving extra focus to areas where you feel less confident.
  • Practice past questions. This is a great way to familiarize yourself with the exam structure, question patterns, and types of questions that often appear.
  • Stay focused during the exam period. Avoid distractions like social media and other activities that may divert your attention from studying.

Important Updates For Schools and Candidates For the NECO 2026 Internal Examination

If you are writing the 2026 NECO SSCE Internal Examinations, take note of these updates as they will be of importance to you during the examination.

  • If the exam time on your question paper differs from what’s on the timetable, always follow the time on the question paper.
  • Check with NECO State Offices to confirm the exam locations for subjects like Physical Education, Auto Mechanics, French, Music, and Arabic.
  • Practical exams may be conducted in sets if there isn’t enough equipment or if the number of candidates is large.
  • For Visual Arts Paper IV (Creative Design), ensure students receive the question paper at least one week before the exam.
  • Materials for Welding & Fabrication and Engineering Craft Practice must be provided to candidates at least three weeks before the exam.
  • For subjects like Dyeing & Bleaching, Photography, Painting & Decoration, Printing Craft Practice, and Leather Goods Manufacturing & Repair, ensure the materials are given at least two weeks before the exam.
  • Nigerian language exams will include literature-related questions.
  • Albino and blind students are allowed an additional 30 minutes for each subject.
  • Blind candidates must use the customized Braille sheet provided by NECO.
  • Scientific calculators are allowed in the exam hall, but programmable calculators or any other programmable devices are strictly prohibited.
  • Bringing electronic communication devices (e.g., GSM phones) into the exam hall is strictly forbidden.
  • Candidates must take practical exams (Paper 1) to receive results for that subject.
