Lagos State BECE New Timetable 2026: Full Junior WAEC Subject- Dates & Times

Lagos State BECE Timetable 2026 has been released for Junior WAEC candidates. The exam is from 29 June to 6 July 2026.

• The timetable is for JSS 3 candidates in Lagos State
• BECE is the Junior WAEC transition examination
• Papers will start from Monday 29 June 2026
• The last papers will hold on Monday 6 July 2026

The Lagos State Ministry of Education, through the Lagos State Examinations Board, has published the timetable for the year 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination, BECE, for candidates in Lagos State.

The examination will begin on Monday 29 June 2026 and will end on Monday 6 July 2026

 

BECE, also known as Junior WAEC, is for candidates in their final year of Junior Secondary School, JSS 3 and it serves as the transition examination from the basic education class to the senior secondary school level.

What is the Lagos State BECE?

The Basic Education Certificate Examination, BECE, is the examination for candidates in JSS 3.

The examination marks the movement from Junior Secondary School to Senior Secondary School and candidates who are preparing for the 2026 Lagos State BECE should use the timetable to confirm their subject dates, paper times and paper duration.

When will the Lagos State BECE 2026 start?

The Lagos State BECE 2026 will start on Monday 29 June 2026.

The examination will run from Monday 29 June 2026 to Monday 6 July 2026, according to the timetable released for the year 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination.

Lagos State BECE Timetable 2026

Monday 29 June 2026

• Pre-Vocational Studies, PVS, will hold from 9:00 am to 11:00 am and the paper will last for 2 hours.
• Nigerian Languages will hold from 12:10 pm to 2:10 pm and the paper will last for 2 hours.
• The Nigerian Languages listed are Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa.

Tuesday 30 June 2026

• English Studies, Objective, will hold from 9:00 am to 10:00 am and the paper will last for 1 hour.
• English Studies, Theory, will hold from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm and the paper will last for 1 hour 30 minutes.

Wednesday 1 July 2026

• French will hold from 9:00 am to 11:00 am and the paper will last for 2 hours.
• Cultural and Creative Art, CCA, will hold from 12:10 pm to 2:10 pm and the paper will last for 2 hours.

Thursday 2 July 2026

• Basic Science and Technology, BST, will hold from 9:00 am to 11:00 am and the paper will last for 2 hours.
• National Value Education, NVE, will hold from 12:10 pm to 2:10 pm and the paper will last for 2 hours.

Friday 3 July 2026

• Mathematics, Objective, will hold from 9:00 am to 10:00 am and the paper will last for 1 hour.
• Mathematics, Theory, will hold from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm and the paper will last for 1 hour 30 minutes.

Saturday 4 July 2026

• History will hold from 9:00 am to 11:00 am and the paper will last for 2 hours.
• CRS/Islamic Studies will hold from 12:10 pm to 2:10 pm and the paper will last for 2 hours.

Monday 6 July 2026

• Arabic Studies will hold from 9:00 am to 11:00 am and the paper will last for 2 hours.
• Business Studies will hold from 12:10 pm to 2:10 pm and the paper will last for 2 hours.

What should candidates check before the examination starts?

Candidates should check the date, time and duration of each paper on the timetable, since some subjects are scheduled for the morning and others are scheduled for the afternoon.

English Studies and Mathematics each have Objective and Theory papers on the same day, so candidates should take note of the gap between both papers.
