University of Maiduguri has announced the commencement of the 2026/2027 Post-Admission Screening Exercise for candidates seeking undergraduate admission.

The screening exercise will start on Monday, 14 June 2026 and end on Monday, 14 August 2026.

Who can apply for UNIMAID Post UTME and Direct Entry screening?

Only UTME and Direct Entry candidates who selected University of Maiduguri as first choice during the 2026/2027 JAMB admission process are eligible for the screening exercise.

Candidates who did not choose UNIMAID as first choice will not be considered for the screening.

What is the UNIMAID UTME cut-off mark?

UTME candidates must have a minimum score of 150.

Some courses have higher cut-off marks and candidates should check the UNIMAID cut-off marks for courses before completing the screening form.

What should candidates know about course requirements?

Candidates must meet the minimum UTME score for their chosen course.

They must also have the correct UTME subject combination as stated in the 2026 JAMB Brochure.

Candidates who do not meet the requirement for their chosen course will be allowed to change to another course whose requirements they meet.

What are the O’Level requirements?

All candidates must have at least five O’Level credit passes in subjects relevant to their proposed course.

Mathematics and English Language must be included and the credits must be obtained in not more than two sittings.

What are the Direct Entry requirements?

Direct Entry candidates must meet the O’Level requirement and possess a minimum of Lower Credit at National Diploma or Higher National Diploma level.

Candidates with NCE must have at least Merit.

Which O’Level results will be accepted for verification?

Only O’Level result printouts downloaded directly from the websites of the national examination bodies will be accepted during verification.

Photocopies of original certificates from WAECNECO or NABTEB will also be accepted.

Must candidates upload O’Level results on JAMB CAPS?

Yes, candidates must ensure that their O’Level results are uploaded on their JAMB CAPS profiles.

The upload should be completed before verification, since the screening process will depend on the candidate’s admission records.

How much is the UNIMAID screening fee?

Candidates are to pay a non-refundable fee of Two Thousand Naira only.

The N2,000 screening fee must be paid through the Remita platform.

How can candidates apply for UNIMAID screening?

Candidates should begin through the University website and proceed to the Post UTME portal.

The application steps are as follows:

  1. Visit the University website and click the Post UTME portal.
  2. Log in with the JAMB Registration Number as the username.
  3. Use “umstad@2026” as the password.
  4. Upload a passport photograph of less than 200KB.
  5. Set a new password.
  6. Enter a phone number and email address.
  7. Generate the Remita payment for N2,000.
  8. Fill in bio-data and A/O Level results.
  9. Upload the required documents.
  10. Submit the application and download the application form.
