Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has opened registration for the 2026/2027 UTME and Direct Entry online screening exercise.

All 2026 UTME and Direct Entry candidates who applied for admission into Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, for the 2026/2027 Academic Session are required to register for the online screening exercise from Monday, 6 July 2026.

Who Can Register For ABU Post UTME/DE Screening?
Only UTME candidates who scored 180 and above are eligible to register for the screening exercise.
Direct Entry candidates are required to pay the screening fee and register.
Any UTME or Direct Entry candidate who fails to register for the screening exercise will not be eligible for admission into Ahmadu Bello University.
When Will ABU Screening Registration Start?
Registration for the 2026 UTME/DE screening exercise starts from Monday, 6 July 2026.
Candidates are expected to complete the online registration through the approved ABU portal, with correct personal, academic and document details.
How Much Is ABU Post UTME/DE Screening Fee?
The registration charge for the screening exercise is Two Thousand Naira, ₦2,000.00 only.
Payment can be made online with a debit card, also known as an ATM card or by printing the transaction slip and paying at any commercial bank across Nigeria.
Candidates do not need to travel to Zaria to make the payment.
How Can Candidates Register For ABU Screening?
Candidates are required to visit and log in to the ABU screening registration portal.
They may also visit the Ahmadu Bello University website and click on “2026/2027 UTME/DE Screening Registration”.
Candidates should complete the form with care, since the information provided will be used for the screening exercise and admission processing.
Which Documents Will Be Uploaded?
Candidates must upload scanned copies of academic and basic documents on the portal.
The required documents include:
- JAMB result.
- ‘O’ Level result, with not more than two sittings.
- ‘A’ Level certificate, where applicable.
- Indigene Certificate.
- NIN.
- Birth Certificate.
These uploads should be clear and accurate, since false or fabricated results will lead to disqualification.

What Should UTME Candidates Enter On The Portal?
UTME candidates must input grades of five ‘O’ Level subjects that are relevant to their chosen programme of study.
The relevant subjects are as provided in the ABU Brochure and candidates are advised to check the brochure before completing this part of the form.
How Can Candidates Check Correct Subject Combination?
Candidates are advised to check the ABU Brochure through the ABU Post UTME brochure page.
The brochure will help candidates confirm whether their subject combinations are correct for their chosen programmes.
Candidates with incorrect subject combinations may change to a more appropriate programme on the JAMB portal.
What Should Candidates With Awaiting ‘O’ Level Results Do?
Candidates with awaiting ‘O’ Level results are enjoined to wait until their results are released.
This is because UTME candidates must enter grades for five relevant ‘O’ Level subjects on the portal.
What Can Lead To Disqualification?
Falsification or fabrication of results will lead to disqualification.
Candidates are advised to provide accurate information during registration and all uploaded documents should match the details entered on the screening portal.
What Happens If A Candidate Fails To Register?
Any UTME or Direct Entry candidate who fails to register for the screening exercise will not be eligible for admission into Ahmadu Bello University.
