The College of Postgraduate Studies, University of Abuja, has invited suitably qualified candidates to apply for admission into its postgraduate programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The available options include Postgraduate Diploma, academic master’s, professional master’s, MPhil and Doctor of Philosophy programmes across agriculture, arts, education, engineering, health sciences, law, management sciences, veterinary medicine and other fields.

Who Can Apply for UNIABUJA Postgraduate Admission?
Applicants must satisfy the general postgraduate admission conditions and the specific requirements attached to their chosen programmes.
Admission requirements differ for Postgraduate Diploma, master’s and PhD programmes. Some professional and health-related courses also require particular degrees, professional registration or clinical experience.
What Are the General O’Level Requirements?
Every applicant must possess at least five relevant O’Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics.
The results must be obtained through any of the following examinations:

- NECO
- GCE

The five credits must be obtained in no more than two sittings.

Is an NYSC Certificate Required?
Every prospective applicant must provide evidence of completing the National Youth Service Corps programme.

What Are the Requirements for a Postgraduate Diploma?
A Postgraduate Diploma applicant must possess either:
- A university degree with at least Third Class
- A Higher National Diploma with at least Lower Credit

What Are the Requirements for a Master’s Degree?
An applicant for an MSc, MA, MEd or another academic master’s programme must hold a relevant bachelor’s degree with at least Second Class Honours, Lower Division.
Some specialised programmes have separate conditions. Financial Economics, for instance, requires a minimum CGPA of 3.00.
Professional and health-related master’s programmes may require specified degrees, professional registration or clinical experience.
What Are the Requirements for a PhD?
A PhD applicant must possess a relevant master’s degree with either:
- A minimum weighted average score of 60 per cent, Grade B
- A minimum CGPA of 3.50
Each PhD applicant must also submit a research proposal containing at least 500 words.
Some departments have further academic or professional conditions.

Professional and health-related programmes require relevant qualifications connected to the proposed field of study.
