Kashim Ibrahim University has opened online Post-UTME and Direct Entry screening registration for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The university was formerly known as Borno State University. Candidates who selected KIU during the 2026 UTME or Direct Entry application process may register if they meet the admission requirements for their chosen programmes.
Online registration will begin on Monday, 27 July 2026 and close on Monday, 31 August 2026. The screening fee is ₦2,000.
Who Is Eligible for the KIU Post-UTME Screening?
UTME candidates who selected Kashim Ibrahim University and scored at least 150 may register for the screening exercise.
A score of 150 does not qualify a candidate for every course. Some programmes require a higher mark, so each applicant should check the KIU programme cut-off marks before starting registration.
Candidates who scored below the required mark for their chosen programmes should change to programmes for which they qualify on the JAMB portal. Registration can then be completed for the new programme.
What O’Level Requirements Must UTME Candidates Meet?
Each candidate must have at least five relevant O’Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics.
The results may be from no more than two sittings. Candidates will also upload scanned copies of their O’Level certificates during registration.
Applicants should confirm that the subjects meet the requirements for their chosen programmes.

They must also meet at least one of the following requirements:

- Second Class Lower in a degree
The qualification presented should support admission into the selected programme.
Why Should Candidates Check Their Subject Combinations?
Candidates should check the KIU brochure on the screening portal to confirm that their subject combinations match the requirements for their programmes.
An incorrect subject combination may affect admission consideration. Affected candidates may change to a more suitable programme through the JAMB portal before completing the screening registration.
The chosen course and subject combination should correspond.
Must Candidates Upload Their O’Level Results to JAMB?
Yes. Every candidate must upload the O’Level result to the JAMB portal.
KIU will not consider candidates whose O’Level results are absent from the JAMB portal. An applicant who has not completed the upload should do so before the admission process moves forward.
Candidates should also confirm that the uploaded subjects, grades and examination details are correct.
Which Documents Must Be Uploaded?
Candidates must upload scanned copies of the required records during online registration.
The documents are:
- O’Level certificate or result from no more than two sittings
- A’Level certificate, where applicable
- Indigene certificate
- National Identification Number
- Birth certificate
Each scanned copy should be clear enough for review. Direct Entry applicants should include the qualification that supports their application.

What Should a Candidate With an Incorrect Subject Combination Do?
