The University of Nigeria Nsukka has issued guidelines for the 2026/2027 Post UTME screening exercise and the aptitude test will be conducted online under remote examination surveillance.
The date for the main Post UTME examination is still to be announced. Candidates are expected to understand the device, environment, identity and conduct requirements before their assigned examination date, since failure to comply may lead to disqualification or other sanctions determined by the University.
Audio and video activity will be continuously monitored and recorded during the examination, both for examination integrity and for any verification or investigation that may be required.
Candidates must remain properly dressed and clearly identifiable throughout the test.
UNN Post UTME Examination Duration
The examination will last for 30 minutes.
Timing begins immediately after the candidate selects the “Start” button. A candidate who answers all questions before the time expires may select “Submit” to send the examination.
Where the allotted 30 minutes expires first, the examination will be submitted automatically.
Candidates should therefore be ready before selecting the Start button, since the stated examination time begins immediately.
A Laptop With Integrated Webcam And Microphone Is Required
The examination may be taken only on a laptop computer fitted with an integrated webcam and microphone.
The following devices or connections are prohibited:
- Mobile phones
- Tablets
- External webcams
- Virtual cameras
- HDMI-connected displays
- Similar external devices
Candidates are strongly encouraged to use their personal laptops where possible.
A candidate who chooses a business centre or cybercafe remains responsible for meeting all examination requirements and for maintaining an isolated environment without disturbance.
Webcam Access Must Remain Available
The laptop webcam must remain unobstructed throughout the examination.
Candidates are expected to stay seated and remain fully visible within the camera frame for the duration of the test, except where the University or examination platform gives separate authorisation.
Any obstruction or interruption that prevents continuous visual monitoring may lead to disqualification or cancellation of the examination.
Camera and microphone access must also be allowed when the candidate enters the examination platform.
Candidate Faces And Ears Must Remain Visible
Candidates’ faces and ears are required to remain completely visible throughout the examination.
The following items are prohibited during the test:
- Face masks
- Face caps, including fez caps
- Headphones
- Earbuds or earpieces
- Wristwatches
- Bracelets
- Smart glasses
- Similar wearable electronic devices
These restrictions are part of the remote monitoring conditions for the online examination.

The Examination Room Must Be Quiet
Each candidate’s examination environment must remain quiet and free from interruptions or background noise.
Another person must not be present in or enter, the candidate’s immediate examination area while the test is taking place.
The presence of an unauthorised person may be treated as examination misconduct and may lead to disqualification.
Candidates using cybercafes or business centres remain responsible for creating an isolated examination space that meets this condition.
Adequate Lighting Is Required
The examination area must have enough light for continuous identification of the candidate.
Poor lighting or inadequate visibility may lead to disqualification because remote surveillance depends on a clear view of the person taking the test.
Candidates should use during the examination the same type of setting that allows the camera to show the face clearly.
Candidates Need Reliable Internet And Electricity
Each candidate is responsible for providing and maintaining a stable internet connection before and throughout the examination.
Candidates are also responsible for uninterrupted electricity supply during the test.
The University will not accept liability for loss or inconvenience arising from electricity failure, internet service interruptions or other technical problems from the candidate’s end.
These conditions apply to both preparation and participation in the online examination.
Candidates Can Enter Only At Their Assigned Time
Access to the examination platform will be available only on the candidate’s assigned examination date and scheduled examination time.
The exact dates for the main 2026/2027 Post UTME examination have not yet been announced.
Candidates will therefore need to follow later University communication for the main examination schedule.
How To Access The UNN Post UTME Examination
Candidates will access the examination through the UNN Portal.
The stated access process is:
- Visit the UNN Portal.
- Click “Take PUTME Exam” on the navigation bar to open the examination login page.
- Enter the JAMB Registration Number and Examination OTP from the registration slip.
- Read the examination instructions carefully.
- Click “Start Examination”.
- Allow camera and microphone access.
- Confirm that the live image is visible on the left panel.
- Click “Join Room” to enter the virtual examination classroom and begin the test.

Only One Browser Tab Is Permitted
Candidates are not permitted to switch between browser tabs during the examination.
Only one tab may remain in use throughout the test.
Tab switching is listed among the behaviours prohibited during the online screening exercise and candidates are expected to remain within the examination environment from start to submission.
UNN Post UTME Examination Misconduct Rules
UNN has listed conduct that may be treated as examination misconduct during the remote aptitude test.
Cases may include:
- Impersonation
- Unauthorised assistance
- Communication with another person
- Use of prohibited devices
- Multiple logins
- Reading examination questions aloud
- Speaking to another person
- Conduct that may compromise the examination
- Other forms of examination malpractice
A candidate must not allow another person into the immediate examination area.
Breaches may lead to cancellation of the examination, removal from the screening exercise or other disciplinary measures determined by the University.
UNN May Review Alleged Technical Or Misconduct Cases
The University reserves the right to review and investigate cases involving alleged technical failures, examination misconduct or breaches of the screening instructions.
Candidate identity may also be verified before, during or after the examination.
An examination may be invalidated where the candidate’s identity cannot be satisfactorily established.
The University’s decision on the administration, conduct and outcome of the Post UTME Aptitude Test will be final and binding on candidates.

UNN May Change The Examination Arrangement
The University reserves the right to suspend, postpone, reschedule or cancel the examination or any part of it, where circumstances require such action.
Candidates are expected to comply with instructions issued before, during and after the screening exercise.
Failure to know an instruction will not be accepted as an excuse for non-compliance.
UNN Mock Examination Date For 2026/2027
The UNN Post UTME Mock Examination will be held on Saturday, 22 August 2026, between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm.
Prior registration on the UNN Portal is required.
The mock examination fee is ₦1,000.
The date for the main Post UTME examination is separate and will be announced later.
Purpose Of The UNN Mock Examination
The mock examination is intended to check whether the candidate’s planned setup is ready for the main online test.
The mock will check:
- Device compatibility
- Browser functionality
- Webcam and microphone operation
- Internet connectivity
- Overall system readiness
The mock examination result will not be used in the final consideration of candidates.
Candidates are advised to use the same laptop, internet connection and examination environment planned for the main Post UTME test when taking the mock.
How To Register For The UNN Post UTME Mock Exam

The stated registration process is:
- Select “Application for Post UTME Mock Exam” at the top of the UNN Portal.
- Enter the JAMB Registration Number and application Remita RRR in the required fields.
- Preview the displayed details.
- Click “GET OTP” to receive an OTP through the registered email address.
- Enter the OTP received by email.
- Tick the confirmation box.
- Click “Register for Mock Examination” to generate the mock registration invoice.
- Pay through Remita using the preferred payment channel.
- After successful payment, return to the UNN Portal and repeat the registration steps needed to complete the process.
- Print the acknowledgement slip.
Candidates should check the examination details shown on the acknowledgement slip after completing registration.

Mock Candidates Should Use Their Planned Main Exam Setup
Candidates are advised to use the same laptop, internet connection and examination environment during the mock that they plan to use for the main aptitude test.
This gives candidates a chance to check device compatibility, browser operation, webcam access, microphone access and internet connection under the stated examination setup.
The mock score itself will not form part of the final admission consideration.
The main Post UTME date is still to be announced, so candidates should follow later University communication for their examination schedule.
