Which Positions Are Available at NICTM?
NICTM is receiving applications for two senior positions:
- Registrar
- Bursar
Both positions are principal officer roles and each appointment will be for a single tenure of five years, subject to the approved conditions of service.
What Is the Role of the Registrar?
The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer of the Institute.
The Registrar is responsible to the Rector for the day-to-day administration of NICTM, heads the Registry Department and serves as custodian of the Institute’s documents.
The Registrar is also the Secretary to the Governing Council, the Academic Board and any committee of the Council and may perform other duties required by the Governing Council or the Rector.
What Are the Requirements for the Registrar Position?
Candidates for the Registrar position must meet the qualification, experience and character requirements stated by NICTM.
Applicants must:
- Hold a first degree with at least Second Class Lower Division or an HND with at least Lower Credit, in Social Sciences, Education, Arts, Humanities or other related courses from a recognised higher school
- Have at least 18 years post-qualification experience for first degree or HND holders or a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline with at least 15 years post-qualification cognate experience or a PhD in a relevant discipline with at least 12 years post-qualification experience
- Have at least 10 years of the required experience from a polytechnic or similar TVET school
- Be a registered member of relevant professional bodies recognised by the Federal Government
- Be on the rank of Deputy Registrar for not less than four years in a higher school
- Be proficient in ICT skills and packages
- Be not more than 59 years old at the time of application
- Show strong administrative leadership, initiative, creativity in administrative policy formulation, good human relations and positive managerial attributes
- Know the Public Service Rules and Regulations of the Polytechnic System
- Provide evidence of membership of professional body or bodies recognised by the Federal Government
- Be a person who is not likely to pursue racial, gender, political, religious or other sectional interest
- Be morally sound, of impeccable character, proven integrity and free from financial embarrassment
- Be physically and mentally fit, with evidence from a government hospital
What Are the Terms of Appointment for Registrar?
The Registrar appointment is for a single tenure of five years, in line with the approved conditions of service.
The appointee will enjoy other benefits attached to the position of a principal officer of the Institute, as approved by the Federal Government.
What Is the Role of the Bursar?
The Bursar is the Chief Financial Officer of the Institute.
The Bursar is responsible to the Rector for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of NICTM, heads the Bursary Department and serves as custodian of the Institute’s finances.

What Are the Requirements for the Bursar Position?
Candidates for the Bursar position must meet the academic, financial, professional and character requirements stated by NICTM.
Applicants must:
- Hold a first degree with at least Second Class Lower Division or an HND with at least Lower Credit, in Accountancy or Finance-related courses from a recognised higher school
- Have at least 18 years post-qualification experience for first degree or HND holders or a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline with at least 15 years post-qualification experience or a PhD in a relevant discipline with at least 12 years post-qualification experience
- Have at least 10 years of the required experience from a polytechnic or similar TVET school
- Be registered with ICAN or ANAN
- Be on the rank one level below Bursar, such as Chief Accountant, Deputy Bursar or Deputy Director, Audit, for not less than four years in a polytechnic or similar TVET school
- Be proficient in ICT skills and accounting packages
- Be not more than 59 years old at the time of application
- Show strong financial and administrative leadership, initiative, creativity in financial policy formulation, good human relations and positive managerial attributes
- Know the Financial Rules and Regulations of the Institute system
- Provide evidence of membership of professional body or bodies
- Be a person who is not likely to pursue racial, gender, political, religious or other sectional interest
- Be morally sound, of impeccable character, proven integrity and free from financial embarrassment
- Be physically and mentally fit, with evidence from a government hospital

The Bursar appointment is for a single tenure of five years, in line with extant provisions.
The salary is consolidated and the appointee will enjoy other benefits attached to the position of a principal officer of the Institute, as approved by the Federal Government.

What Should Applicants Know Before Interview?
Applicants will be required to produce the originals of their certificates and other relevant credentials if invited for interview.

Previous holders of the position in any tertiary school need not apply.
