Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) has announced Monday, 12 October 2026 as the resumption date for the 2026/2027 academic session.
Fresh and continuing students are expected to resume academic activities on the same date, following the completion of the 2025/2026 session and the students’ vacation period.
The resumption date was contained in a university circular signed by the Registrar, Sir Ambrose Ugwu.
ESUT 2026/2027 Resumption Date
Academic activities for the 2026/2027 session will commence on Monday, 12 October 2026.
The date applies to:
- Fresh students
- Continuing students
Both categories of students are expected to return for academic activities from the stated date.
End of the 2025/2026 Academic Session
The university has confirmed that the 2025/2026 academic session has ended following the conclusion of second semester examinations.
The second semester ended on 10 August 2026 after the examinations were completed and students subsequently proceeded on vacation.
The vacation period will run before academic activities begin for the new session on 12 October 2026.
One-Month Deadline for Semester Results
Lecturers have been given one month to submit second semester examination results for consideration by the Result Committee.
The result-submission period is required under university regulations and is intended to support related academic processes before the next session progresses further.
These processes include the change of course exercise and consideration of candidates in their respective programmes of study.
Staff and College of Medicine Vacation Arrangement
The students’ vacation does not apply to university staff or the ESUT College of Medicine.
While students are on holiday following the completion of the 2025/2026 academic session, university staff and the College of Medicine remain outside the stated vacation arrangement.
Students covered by the general academic calendar will return when the 2026/2027 session begins on 12 October 2026.
